City of Loves Park Parking During Snow Removal Ordinance

The City of Loves Park has an ordinance that specifically covers street parking, during snow removal.  It states that if 2 or more inches of snow have fallen, prior to 9:00 pm, you may not park on any city street until the snow has been plowed.  The full language of the ordinance is included below.

Sec. 86-95. - Parking during snow removal.
(a)   No person shall park any motor vehicle of any class on any street in the city after two inches of snow has fallen, until such time as the snow has been plowed to the side of the street, except that no parking shall be allowed on North Second Street from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. after two inches of snow has fallen, until such time as the snow has been plowed to the side of the street.
(b)   Any vehicle found illegally parked under this section may be towed away under the order of the police department, and, in addition to the fine, the person shall pay the towing and storage charges to the towing-away agency before regaining possession of his/her vehicle.
(c)   The police department or the code enforcement officer may issue tickets for parking violations of this section; however, no snow parking tickets shall be issued between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. if snow commences after 9:00 p.m. and accumulates to two inches or more before 7:00 a.m.
(d)   The person parking, and/or owner, of any vehicle found illegally parked under this section shall be fined the sum of $25.00 for his/her first offense and $25.00 for each subsequent offense.
