Polar Plunge for Special Olympics – Illinois
Each year, the Loves Park Police Department proudly participates in the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge held at Olson Lake at the beginning of March.
This year, our officers took the plunge with the Frosty First Responders team, braving the icywaters in support of an incredible cause.
The annual Polar Plunge brings together law enforcement officers, community members, and supporters from across the region to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes.
Thanks to the generosity of our community and supporters, our team raised more than $6,000 in 2026 to help provide opportunities, resources, and life-changing experiences for SpecialOlympics athletes.
